Confirmation is the time in a young person's life when they begin the journey to affirm their beliefs in the Christian faith for themselves. Confirmation is a time of learning, asking questions, and making their faith their own. Whether they have been baptized at infancy, or have yet to be baptized, confirmation helps youth prepare to profess their faith openly before God and the church.
Confirmation at First United Methodist Church of Ogallala runs through the school year from September through May. It consists of weekly one-hour class sessions, the completion of a project designed to help them grow in the areas of Prayers, Presence, Gifts, Service, and Witness, a service project, an exploration of congregation governance, and a year-end retreat.
We offer confirmation classes for students entering eighth grade or above. Please ask the Pastor when our next Confirmation Class will begin.
